Crimson Voids.

Crimson Voids is a series of 200 artworks that seeks to ignite conversations about the essence of beauty and loss, told through the lens of transgenerational dialogue between a grandparent and a grandchild, with climate change as their central theme. Using blacks, negative (white) space, and predominantly red tones, Yayen attempts to convey intricate narratives with simple, accessible tools.

Each painting tells a story — a reflection on the connection, disconnection and rupture between generations, environment, and culture. These themes resonate across different parts of the world, revealing a parallel sense of loss.

Yet, despite the looming threat, the series is punctuated with a sense of hopefulness. Yayen invites viewers to reflect on this pressing issue affects everyone but is often overlooked.
